Many of you will recognize Jamie, who has been a familiar and
friendly face around the Talisman Centre for many years. Jamie began
his coaching career in a small club outside of St. Johns, NF in the
early 1980's. Since that time he has gradually moved across the country
with stops in Dartmouth, Antigonish and Saskatoon. He has 28 years of
coaching experience to go along with a Masters degree in the Art &
Science of Coaching and a teaching degree in physical education. This
is Jamie's eighth season as Head Coach for the Calgary Patriots.
Jamie has worked for a number of Calgary clubs over the past fourteen years,
while also traveling with the National Team as an exercise
physiologist. With his Team Canada duties, he has had stops in Sydney,
Hong Kong, Manchester and Japan. In 2006-07 Jamie was named Swimming
Canada and Swim Alberta Coach of the Year, for performances by Erica
Morningstar at World Champs in Melbourne. Under Jamie's guidance, the
Calgary Patriots have solidified their position in Calgary and Alberta
as one of the premier age group swim clubs. We are fortunate to have Jamie bringing his expertise to our Club. |
